The Dream is a beautiful rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was performed by the American Ballet Theatre.
The music fit perfectly for every scene. The costumes were magical and the ballet was better than I have seen live.
Titania and Oberon provided us with wonder facial expressions and chemistry. Their performance was beautifully done.
The fairies on point were mezmorizing. The way they moved their feet had a fast-forward-looking effect, as if they were sped up. It was really neat to see their feet move so fast and gracefully. They were very much in synch throughout the entire piece.
Puck's jumps were extremely high and graceful. He looked as though he put no effort into them at all. Very talented. He was also very enthusiastic and really carried that energy throughout the entire performance.
The couple in red really had great chemistry. The way they moved together on stage was almost as if they were floating. I could really see the love between their characters.
The blue couple was hilarious. The girl's expressions were outrageous and so very comical. They worked together very well and were very graceful.
The rustics were somehow falling over themselves and graceful at the same time. They played their characters perfectly.
I loved this performance. I was really excited to see how different american ballet is from russian ballet. It is definitely a big difference. I loved all of the emotion and smiles. I don't think that the russian ballet could have conveyed A Midsummer Night's Dream like the American Ballet Theatre did here.
